Should Puppy Mills be Illegal?

Pet Stores:
Do not buy a puppy from a Pet Store. They all come from Puppy Mills. Never believe the owner when they say that they get their dogs from responsible breeders. Because no responsible breeder would sell their puppies to a Pet Store.
Puppy Mills are just disgusting. Most of the dogs never touch grass. Some don't even know how to walk, because they're in a cage they're whole life. Some are in things similar to hamster wheels.
When the owners of the Mills no longer need the dog, they usually will just shoot it. Or they'll give a rescue center 30 minutes to come pick the dog up before it's shot. Some of the dogs are kept in cages that are so small, that they can hardly stand up and turn around.
I don't know why Puppy Mills aren't illegal, but in my mind they should be.
I know a few people who have bought dogs from Pet Stores. The dogs were maniacs. They were insane. Why? Well because they are in cages their whole life.
When buying a dog, please keep that in mind. Buy from a responsible breeder.

Love this, thanks for posting this.
I believe in buying from a responsible breeder or getting one from your local shelter. That's where I got my pure-breed pomeranian.

While watching the Oprah show on puppy mills, I was just crying my eyes out. The conditions were horrible.

A lot of people think shelter dogs are like unclean mutts. I love mutts!!
And thank goodness (because I would have cried too) I had to work while that episode was on.
